The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is an introductory course for candidates who have little or no previous English language teaching experience. It may also be suitable for candidates with some experience but little previous training. During the course, candidates develop familiarity with the principles of effective teaching and acquire a range of practical skills for teaching English to adult learners. The course includes teaching practice, observation of experienced teachers in the classroom and completion of a range of practically focused written assignments.

Courses offered: Kwantlen University College offers two part-time CELTA courses, one beginning in September and one in January. These courses run three evenings a week over 12 weeks.
