BINGO

Teacher's Notes:

  1. Divide the class into pairs or groups of threes.
  2. Give each pair or group a blank bingo card. Bingo cards below have different patterns.
  3. Tell the students to fill in the squares of the bingo card with the words or numbers that you have written on the board (write more words than there are boxes on the card i.e. over 24 words).
  4. The students must fill in all of the white squares. They will not be able to use all of the words but that's OK.
  5. Once they have done this, hold a game of bingo by calling out the words or numbers from the board at random. When a student hears a number or word on his/her card he/she should cross it out.
  6. Call until a student has got a horizontal line of five squares. He/She is the first winner.
  7. Once you have the first winners, then play for a full house i.e. keep calling out the words or numbers until someone has a completely filled out card.
