Teacher's notes:

Cut out the story below.
Put the students into pairs and ask them to tell each other about how they met their partners/husbands/wives or their best friends.
Tell them that they are going to find out about a woman who met and fell in love very early in life.
Give each pair the strips of the story and ask them to put them together in order.
When they have finished, ask them to tell you what happened.
Then complete the worksheet which is below the story.

My sister met her husband over 25 years ago.

She was 14 and he was 16. He played the piano in a band.

The band came to our town one night and she went to listen to them play.

She liked him immediately but he didn't even notice her.

She decided to get his attention by leaving her house keys next to his piano on the stage.

When it came to the end of the night she thought that he would pick up the keys and ask whose they were.

Unfortunately, he didn't see them. Another person found them and took them to the desk at the entrance.

She didn't see the other person take them and couldn't find them.

She was really worried because it was time to go home.

Luckily, Paul (her future husband) asked why she was worried. She told him that she didn't have her keys.

He offered to take her home.

They have been together ever since.
