Rewrite my board

Type of activity: This is a good activity to remind students what has been taught during a lesson, at the end of a lesson; it’s a good review activity.
Level
: Any level

Teacher's notes:The aim is for the students to teach you a game that they play in their own language.

  1. At the end of a lesson, ask the students to look at the board for a few minutes; it will probably be covered with new words or the grammar structure that has been taught during the lesson etc.
  2. Tell them to memorize as much of the board as they can. Then tell them to close their eyes, once they have done this, erase certain words from the board. Don’t erase too many, just enough for them to see that you have erased some things.
  3. Then tell them to open their eyes.
  4. They should then shout out things which you have erased.
  5. When they tell you what is missing, replace the items or nominate a student in class to rewrite the board.
  6. You can repeat this activity a few times.
  7. Try to erase more and more.

Note: This is a good memory activity, you can do this activity repeatedly over the course of lessons that you have the students for.
